After finding a girl crying in the park for having lost her doll, Kafka decides to write her a letter a day to tell her all about her doll's fictional journeys. Despite being sick and weak, Kafka visits the park every day to read a letter to the girl, and it is in this obsession to help her deal with the loss of her doll that he ends up finding himself again.
