Dan Rosen

Dan Rosen is a produced screenwriter, director, playwright, producer and since 2019, a Professor of Dramatic Writing at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta, Georgia. 
 
He and his new  writing partner, Tess Gerritsen (Rizolli & Isles) recently set up a series of original two hour movies at Lifetime Television entitled “Survivors”. They also just finished a new one hour mystery called, “Vacationland”. 
 
His first movie, “The Last Supper” has been turned into a dark Musical Comedy and had it’s pre-Broadway preview run this past summer at the Orange Center for the Performing Arts starting Charlotte D’Amboise (Chicago) and Alex Newell (Glee). 
 
Dan’s first screenplay, “The Last Supper” stars Cameron Diaz, Anabeth Gish, Courtney B. Vance, Charles Durning, Ron Pearlman, and Bill Paxton. Debuting at the Toronto Film Festival, The Last Supper was a crowd favorite at The London Film Festival, South BySouthwest,  The Austin Film Festival,, and Sundance before being released in the U.S. in 1996 by Sony Releasing.   
 
The stage version has played to critical acclaim in Rome (1999), Melbourne (2002), Perth (2002), Chicago (2006), Mar De Plata (2008), Buenos Aires (2009), Oslo (2009) Madison (2011) Kent, England (2012), and UNC-Greenville (2014). It won the prestigious “Best New Play” Award in Mar De Plata, Argentina in 2008.  A new production played in Boise South Dakota this past summer. 
 
Dan’s second screenplay and directorial debut Dead Man’s Curve (aka The Curve), starring Matthew Lillard, Keri Russel, and Michael Vartan, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 1998.  He also co-wrote the Australian comedy The Extra and co-wrote and directed the indie comedy Freeloaders starring Nat Faxon, Josh Lawson, Jane Seymour and Olivia Munn. From 2012 to 2013, Dan was a writer and co-executive producer on the BET and CENTRIX comedy television series, The First Family produced by Entertainment Studios. Dan has sold or optioned over 20 screenplays and television pilots and continues to have a number of screenplays and projects in active development including Rat’s Tale at Crusader Entertainment and an adaptation of the award-winning novel Sinatraland by Sam Kashner for Britt Alcroft Productions.
